Dear Resident
Officers are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a fatal collision in Hemel Hempstead. The incident occurred on Sunday 30 November at around 2.30pm on Leighton Buzzard Road and involved two vehicles, a grey Austin Morris Mini and a white Ford Transit. Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue. Following the collision, the driver of the Austin Morris Mini, a man in his 50s, sadly died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time. The driver of the white Ford Transit was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Sergeant Luke Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this time. “Our enquiries into this incident are continuing and I am urging anyone with information to come forward. “Did you see what happened? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you can help. “I also want to ask anyone who may have a dashcam fitted and were in the area at the time to please check your footage. If you’ve captured something that can help, please upload this at: herts.police.uk/dashcamupload.” You can report information online at https://orlo.uk/wFs77, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at https://orlo.uk/fZa3I or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Op Euston. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
